Who we are?
Hecho Por Nosotros is a Non-governmental organization with consultative status at the Economic and Social Council in the United Nations. We're deeply invested in grassroots efforts to champion the creative economy and sustainability, working hand in hand with local communities to enact meaningful change from the ground up.
By integrating indigenous wisdom and respecting their traditional knowledge, we aim to create a more holistic approach to sustainability, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of these communities. Through collaborative endeavors, we seek to bridge cultural divides and leverage diverse perspectives to foster innovation and progress towards a more sustainable future aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
OUR MISSION
Our commitment extends beyond mere rhetoric; we actively engage in capacity-building initiatives. Through education and advocacy, we aim to amplify the voices of marginalized groups, ensuring that their perspectives are heard and respected in the global discourse on sustainability and development.
OUR VISION
Our vision focuses on learning from artisans and SMEs, as we believe that solutions come from the grassroots of the industry and that these communities hold the key to generating systemic change. We partner to create strategies to transform and improve your organizations together in the best way for your community, stakeholders and goals.
animaná
a B-Corp social enterprise
Is dedicated to revitalizing Andean culture, arts, and ancient wisdom to craft premium fashion garments, promoting the use of natural fibers indigenous to the region. Embracing principles of fair trade, local community empowerment, and eco-conscious production, Animaná stands as a beacon for sustainable and ethical fashion practices. Acknowledged with the prestigious global B-Corp title in two categories—'agents of change' and 'community'—Animaná epitomizes the transformative power of socially responsible businesses.
Our history
In response to the conventional and mass-consumption paradigms prevalent in the global creative industries, Hecho Por Nosotros emerged with a vision of a circular economy. These ventures were conceived to address the myriad social and environmental challenges stemming from the industry's practices.
Issues such as the absence of social consciousness in business operations, the widening gap from nature, and the marginalized status of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the era of globalization have encouraged the urgent need for transformative approaches.
By embracing circular economy principles, fostering meaningful connections with nature, and championing the inclusion of MSMEs, these initiatives strive to break boundaries and pave the way for a creative industry and economic development that not only thrives but also uplifts communities and preserves the planet for future generations.
Working for a collaborative fashion industry
Since 2009, we have been contributing towards a systemic change in the fashion industry, to reach a more sustainable and inclusive industry.
Partnership between Hecho por Nosotros and animaná
In 2009, Adriana Marina founded animaná, a sustainable luxury fashion brand, which serves as an example of the mission of Hecho por Nosotros in action and as an example of how the passion of one person can impact the lives of so many others. Together, animaná and Hecho por Nosotros have provided training, support, and occupations for over 7,500 artisans in rural Argentina, all working towards the same goal: the co-creation of a sustainable future.
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
The impact of our work
Over the past decade, we have worked closely with textile communities and actors who are at the base of the camelid fiber value chain in Latin America. The most important outcome from our immediate work with these actors is an increased understanding of the technical and social barriers that these cooperatives and MSMEs face. The disconnection between MSMEs and global value chains is a huge part of the problem and creating those links should be part of the solution.
Economic impact
Our success allows us to reinvest resources in promoting circular fashion and empowering small businesses and artisans.
Environmental impact
We are promoting the production processes of camelid fibers which are 100% organic, helping capitalize the animal and plant wealth of the Andean region.
Consumer impact
We introduce new paradigms to positively change consumer behavior by creating awareness of clothes production and process.
THE CURRENT PARADIGM
Fashion industry today
The dominant business model in the sector is that of “fast fashion,” whereby consumers are offered constantly changing collections at low prices and encouraged to frequently buy and discard clothes.
With information so readily available at our fingertips, we have a responsibility to educate consumers.
1
Development of a transparent and sustainable camelid value chain
By promoting camelids fibers within the textile industry at the regional and local level and implementing sustainable business practices in the sourcing of these fibers while also strengthening community-based natural resource management.
2
Advocating for a sustainable fashion and textile industry based on the circular economy
Systemic change in the fashion and textile industry, thinking about garments as a whole, analyzing their entire life cycle in order to reduce negative impacts on the social and environmental spheres.
3
Helping with capacity-building at a regional and global level
We participate in several international platforms such as the UN, WTO, WEF, and G20. Participating in these global dialogues offers a unique opportunity to organize events at the highest political forums as a crucial tool to promote our goals.

Adriana Marina
"Reinvent the creative industry by using technology to boost the activity and knowledge of artisans and micro-enterprises, as well as small and medium-sized businesses, often excluded from the global fashion economy, with the aim of validating their knowledge and promote sustainable production techniques, processes and natural fibers and thus achieve an inclusive model based on sustainability, circularity and joint creation".
