Vision and Philosophy
“A fashion industry where artisans and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), who are often marginalized in the global economy, are recognized, valued and empowered. Where their sustainable techniques and knowledge of natural fibers are the pillars of a fashion industry based on sustainability, circularity and co-creation”
Adriana Marina - founder
The value-added that both HxN and animaná offer is that we make artisans and MSME’s our partners. Our vision focuses on learning from them first as we believe that solutions come from the grassroots of the industry and that these communities hold the key to generate a systemic change. Once we learn and understand their wisdom, values, iconography, techniques, processes, issues, challenges, and their philosophy regarding social and environmental aspects, we partner up to create strategies in order to transform and upgrade their organizations together in a way that is the best for their community, stakeholders and objectives.
Our ultimate goal and aspiration are to give power to the invisible artisans and communities, bearers of ancient knowledge and cultures. Many of these have been marginalized by the globalized fashion industry, dominated by giant corporations that prioritize profit creation at any cost. We provide them with valuable information and business tools such as marketing, sales, and managerial strategies for them to improve their insertion into local, regional, and global value chains, as well as ways of using their designs as a way to express their culture and stories to better engage with cosmopolitan markets and consumers. Therefore, by fostering a systemic change towards a more sustainable and inclusive garments industry, we aim to give these communities their identity back and give them a place in the global markets.
