Artisanal Knowledge Repository using Artificial Intelligence

The Hechos Por Nosotros project’s objective is to develop a framework of engagement which will instill ownership within the artisan community in preserving their heritage. The repository will help in safeguarding and preserving invaluable Artisanal Intelligence for the future. By using the native languages to create this repository, the AI based model will promote digital inclusion as well.

The initiative aims to use AI to empower Indigenous artisans to create:

a) a knowledge repository of skill sets, practices and expertise and

b) AI based learning tool to create visually compelling but authentic content to educate and guide learners on the skill sets

The proposed AI system will help artisans to overcome literacy, access and technological challenges and aims to promote equity.

This project supports several of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

The expected outcomes of this project include the following:

⁠ ⁠Preservation of culture, skillsets and expertise, languages and traditions.
Circular economy through sustainable eco friendly processes.
⁠ Stronger Artisan network, community creation for collaborative growth as a whole.
⁠Learning tools and pathways for knowledge transfer to future generations.

We are deeply grateful to announce that, as an Ashoka Fellow, we have been endorsed by the Ashoka Arab World – Wise Program Changemakers Collaboration Fund. This global initiative supports collaborations led by women social entrepreneurs (WISE) working toward regenerative and inclusive futures by amplifying their presence and influence.

This is a powerful milestone for Hecho Por Nosotros and animaná, validating our mission to foster systemic change through creative industries and circular economy models. The Ashoka–WISE collaboration strengthens our ability to expand our global impact, connecting innovation and tradition. Our goal is to further empower women innovators, foster knowledge exchange, and build regenerative value chains that honor both people and the planet.
