Webinar 25.6: Comparing the Environmental Footprint of Conventional Retailers and Pure E-commerce

Adriana Marina (founder of the NGO Hecho por Nosotros and animaná) is proud to host Paula Luu. Growth in online purchases for apparel is changing the way that customers engage with retail companies, reducing the number of trips they take to the physical store, and increasing the number of packages delivered to households. Among the many implications of these changes, these new business models dramatically impact that carbon footprint of the retail industry, including the carbon footprint of delivery and returns. In this webinar, the presenter will share findings from her Master's Thesis which compared the environmental footprint of conventional retailers to the footprint of a subscription, purely e-commerce retailer.

About the speaker:

Paula Luu is a circular economy professional, who focuses on the apparel industry. She has an MBA/Masters of Science from University of Michigan where she co-wrote a thesis on the environmental impacts of e-commerce business compared to brick and mortar.
